Peach Pickin'

I always knew the church was amazing, but I never realized how smart they are. When I moved up to countryville, USA in North Ogden and was sitting in sacrament one day, they announced that it was tree trimming time again in the orchard. I thought they meant tree trimming around the neighborhood. However, Gavin explained to me that the church owns this huge orchard just down the road. The orchard is split up in catagories by Stakes and Wards, and we are in charge of taking care of our share. When it comes time for harvesting, the church cans them and distributes them throughout families in the church that needs food or even throughout the world. Amazing huh? The first time we went to help, I was amazed at how many trees there are. I have never been in an orchard so big. Our ward is in charge of about 80 trees out of basically 1000, seriously that big. The trees were still dead from the winter, it was freezing cold outside and I was the only girl, so it wasnt very enjoyable. Well last sunday Gavin volunteered us to go help this past week again to do some thinning. I learned that thinning the trees means to even out the fruit throughout the tree so there is room for the peaches to grow without breaking the branch. They handed us a flier as we pulled in with these sweet peach pickers. The fliers had these rules on them:
Rule #1: No throwing fruit
Rule #2: Be on the ladders only if necessary
Rule #3: No horseplay
So what does my husband do right as we start? Starts throwing hard, unripe fruit at me. He is such a butt. We had a lot of fun though. The trees were so pretty with all the green leaves on them.

Jill and Gaynard have been wanting to take us to Tucanos for a long time. That is Gavin's ultimate favorite place to eat and we also did our wedding luncheon there. So before Gaynard leaves for Hawaii we took a trip to the Gateway. Gavin's parents have been so proud of him for his sucess in school and his hardwork with his new job... and so have I.

This past friday was my sister-in-laws last day of work. I am going to be so sad and lonely without her. I am so excited that she got a new great job with a law firm in Salt Lake. She is such a hardworker and definetly deserves it. I guess I do have Shane to hang out with though.

Friday was also my Brother-in-law's birthday! Woop Woop the big 25 now he can get a rental car without getting robbed. We had a great time hanging out and seeing all their friends. My sister is such a good wife and her and her friends are so gorgeous it makes me jealous. But I am lucky to have such a fun family.

LeE bRiCe

Last night was the concert for Lee Brice in Salt Lake at the Westerner (a country bar in salt lake). I have never been to a bar before and the bar part wasnt that cool to be honest. BUT we had so much fun last night! Before we headed down to Salt Lake, we decided to make the whole night free of charge and stop by Subway to use our points. Hey we are poor college students we have to do what we can. Gavin was so sweet and let me get a Davids ice cream treat. For all you people that havent been there... you have to try it!

When we got to the bar we ran into some of Gavin's friends from school and hung out with them all night. When they walked up to us they were telling us how they got back stage passes! I was jealous, we needed to meet him if we were going to fly across the country to see him. So I walked up to the counter and was like "I won the fly'away! I have to meet him" so they gave me a wrist band... I was like "what about my husband?" but they refused. So Gavin's friends and I went back stage and poor Gavin had to hang out alone for a while. I was a little nervous, but I knew he would be okay.

I told Lee how I won the fly away, he was like "you did? thats awesome we have to keep in touch and hang out when you get there! thats my home town." I was excited, but now that I think about it, he was basically wasted and I doubt he will remember me when he wakes up this morning. Oh well Gav and I are still so excited for our fly away it was a great concert!

Fathers Day Weekend

This was a crazy weekend. Not only was it the first weekend that Gavin was out of town for work, but it was the first big "Spectacular" practice at Weber State. There were about 30 Stakes there and over 3,000 youth! we learned he grand finale of the program and it is going to be so great!

Karlee, Brigham, Me, Drew, Kennede and Maddy

After the "Spectacular" practice that went from 7 am to 1 pm, I went home to hurry and get ready for my nephew's birthday. He turned 4 years old and had a Super Mario Bro. party. My sister-in-law had these cute mushroom cupcakes made, arent they adorable. I swear Gavin's sisters always go all out for everything, I hope I will be able to keep up with them when I have kids.

Isn't this the coolest party ever?

The kids had a pinata and broke it open the first round. Tyler wanted to keep hitting it until it was completely distroyed.

We celebrated Father's Day with my family on Saturday. My dad requested Santa Monica Pizza and seeing the movie Karate Kid. So on my way to Salt Lake I picked up Gavin from the airport. It was so much fun to hang out with my family. My little brother Jake rode with me to get Gavin and he is growing up so fast and is becoming such a great kid! We celebrated with Gavin's family on Sunday. We went over to his aunts house and had a picnic dinner with almost the whole fam. All of Gavin's cousins are around our age so it's always fun to sit and hear everyone's stories.

What a Handsome boy, this is my tribute to my future children's daddy, Love you Gav!

My tribute to my Father-in-Law, you crack me up Gaynard!

And my tribute to my dad! Love you Dad, you really are the best dad ever, I cant get over how hard you have always work for us and still do. Thank you for everything! especially for your friendship, I never want it to change! Love you dad. This weekend was fun, busy and went by way to fast!

First Day

Today was Gavin's first day of work. He had to be there at 7:00 a.m. so we both woke up bright and early. I made him a delicious egg and cheese on an english muffin with some milk to keep him going all morning. Today he is going to be going out with one of the reps. They will be going into surgery to show him how to put in the device (Bone/ Spinal Putty). Pray that Gavin will make it through the surgery without getting sick. I am sure he will be just fine, but I told him to just relax and breathe if he starts feeling it. Me? This morning and worked out before work...Pfffff lets see how long it lasts this time!

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner

Have you ever met those people in life that seem to be naturally born winners? They are the kind of people that everything they touch just seems to turn to gold for them? Well... Im like the Polar opposite! I never win anything! Not only do I never win, but anything I want in life it seems like I have to work extra hard for. But after this weekend I feel like my luck has changed. Saturday morning bright and early Gavin and I headed down to Salt Lake for my family reunion. We are just talking as always like best friends do, listening to our good 'ol country and wishing we were in bed. All of a sudden on the radio I hear the dialing they put on when you should call in to win. So.... I called. Gavin asked "What are you calling to win" I had no idea, I just wanted to try winning. The first try calling... busy... the second try... it was ringing! My stomach was churning and I got all nervous, I had to be caller 13. The guy answered and I was so caught off gaurd. He told me that I had won and I was like, What did I win?? I was so embarrassed!! So Gavin and I won tickets to see Lee Brice down in Salt Lake at the Westerner, a Country bar. (Good thing I am 21 now huh?). So we go about our day, chillin with the fam, and on our way home, I hear the dialing again... so I call in. I WON AGAIN!!! It was so weird to hear my voice on the radio, Gavin and I could NOT stop laughing. He makes fun of me when he tells people about it, he says, "You know when people are embarrassed and they do things they usually wouldnt do that are way weird? Well when Tawnya won the tickets again she turned to me with a thumbs up and mouthed "I WON"" Haha I couldnt help myself. Anyway I won 4 tickets for us to take some friends to see Lee Brice at the Westerner. Sweet! But my luck wasnt over. I also found out in the process of being a winner that both times qualified me in a drawing to win a fly away to see him in South Carolina. All I had to do was listen Monday morning at 8:20. Did I think I would win? Maybe. I didnt want to jinx myself so I tried just forgetting about it. Well this morning I made sure I got to work extra late so I could be in my car at 8:20. When the time came I turned my radio up REALLY loud so I made sure I could hear... and they announced "Tawna Linsey you are the winner call us back" all I could think was DANG!! They didnt call me, but then I was like wait a sec... I think they meant Tawnya Linsley! So I called in as fast as my little fingers would go and.... I WON!! I won a fly away to see Lee Brice in concert on the beach in South Carolina. I feel so good inside. I have never known this feeling, and it was nice for all those naturally born winnners out there to share it with me finally. And that is the big story for the weekend. Oh ya and Gavin was lucky this weekend as well. At our family reunion, he was playing horse shoes with all the guys and.. He Got a Ringer!
Isnt he amazing? So all-in-all we had a fun, winning weekend. Hopefully I will be able to keep some luck around for when we go to Vegas!

A New Lucky Outfit

This is Gavin's way nice new outfit. Isnt he Handsome?? You might be thinking... wow Tawnya, do you really have no life that you feel like blogging your husbands new clothes? Little do you know there is a reason he got this new lucky outfit. Gavin has been interviewing with a Medical Device sales company, and today was his 4th interview! HIS FOURTH!! They flew in the Vice President of the company and everything to meet with him today. That is why he needed these new clothes you see.

These pics were taken by the greatest Jen my lovely sister-in-law. I bet you are wondering if he got the job... we to our joy HE DID!! Gavin was the one picked for the job out of many applicants. They interviewed people with10 years of experience and still chose Gavin. I am so proud of him! Also after he is finished training this summer in kaysville, we will be relocated. We aren't quite sure where yet, we could go anywhere from Salt Lake to Montana to Hawaii.... okay maybe not Hawaii, but somewhere fun. I am so proud of Gavin, he is such a hard worker and the best husband. He is such a good best friend and does everything for me. No matter how hard I try, I dont feel like I can do as much for him as he does for me. Maybe one day I can make it up to him. Love ya Gav!

Sunday Fun

I was in desperate need of a weekend last week and when it finally got here, it was so much fun. On Friday, Gavin and I went to two wedding receptions. They were both girls I knew in high school. One of them I played softball with forever and she is so gorgeous! Her wedding was beautiful and I am so happy for her.
Isnt she beautiful! I loved this picture of her and thought it was such a cute idea.
Her cake was amazing! It was completely covered in rolled/ shaved white chocolate.

Saturday morning we had another spectacular practice. This time the weather was much better, lots of sunshine and no clouds. We also had Quinns Baptism on Saturday. It was so much fun to be with all of Gavin's family. The baptism was so nice and the talks were great. I have been so tons of Baptisms, but its always nice to have a reminder about the covenants we make at that time.

Did I mention I finally got my hair done?

Sunday was our last day house sitting... we will miss Brandy! Gav and I didnt have any plans for dinner and neither did Jill and Gaynard, so we decided to go for a drive and have a little picnic. It was such a beautiful day! We went over in the valley and drove all over it. We saw big beautiful houses and a lot of cows... I love animals. We finally stopped up at Snowbird to find some picnic tables to eat at. We walked down a trail to see if we would run into any, and we had no luck. On our way back to the car there was a SNAKE on the trail! I screamed bloody murder! I hate snakes so bad they are disgusting. Haha I made Gavin scream too and his parents could not stop laughing. We finally sat on the grass in front of the lodge and cooked our food. It was delicious and so nice to spend some time together.
Such a fun time with the Linsley Fam!

May and June Update

Gavin and I have been on vacation... well a vacation down the street. We have been house sitting and dog sitting for the cutest family ever. So while they are in Hawaii, we get our own big house. The dogs name is Brandi and she is obsessed with Gavin. She follows him everywhere he goes! She is kind of a bigger dog and shed everywhere. Gavin and I were going down to salt lake for sunday dinner and didnt want to leave her home alone. So we jumped in the three seater truck and headed out. She played so hard with the other dogs she fell asleep on Gav's lap on the way home.

The house is beautiful! It's basically up hidden in the mountain so we are surrounded by forest.

May is my birthday month so the day before we had my birthday dinner with the Linsley's. I requested chinese food, and Jill went all out.. of course. She always makes everything so amazing.

It was so much fun to spend time with the family together. I got so many cute gifts I loved all of them... except for maybe one. When Gav gave me his gift to open, he was so giddy and laughing it made me not want to open it. When I did i was SO embarrassed!!! Since I turned 21, he got me this huge can of beer. GROSS! My face went way red and all I could do was laugh. He is such a bum. He also got me this way sweet couch slip cover for our hand-me-down couch that we love. It used to be chocolate cordoroy, now its tan suede, its like a whole new couch! Then he took me shopping all day long, which is a WAY good present from him because he has a hard time shopping with me.
The next day on my birthday I woke up at 4:00 a.m. and then every 20 min after that and was so sick. I knew it couldn't have been food poisoning from Jill's amazing meal. Ends up I have the 24 hr. flu and just had to wait it out. I had to miss work and layed in bed all day... DARN! What is worse.. laying in bed on your b-day or going to work? I still cant decide. Anyway, on Gavin's lunch break he brought me these way cute flowers!
When I got to work the next day... my office got me these cute flowers and the most random card ever.
This is my favorite part of this whole post. My lucky cousins adpoted the cutest baby EVER last week!! She is half black half white and I want to keep her. We went to their house last night and I held her for hours, plus fed, changed and put her pajamas on her. I am so excited to be a mom one day... until then, I have baby Jada.
