Spectacular?

This past Sunday, my little sis Graduated from Seminary! I am so proud of her, its such a great program for youth.

Gavin and I have been called to help out with the "Spectacular". If you remember the day of celebration they did in salt lake, its like that but with the Ogden Stakes. Our first big practice was this past Saturday on Weber High Schools football field, and it was freezing cold... not to Spectacular. It was so cold it started Hailing! The balls were so big it was painful when they hit you!

Even though the weather was horrible, the youth still had fun in it and practiced through it. It was a fun weekend, and I cant wait until next weekend.... its My Birthday!

Yesterday we had the honor to attend the sealing and luncheon for one of Gavin's good guy friends, and of course one of my good friends now. They were so adorable in the temple and all day we are so happy for them. Gavin and i got to hang out all day and i loved it. i swear my fairytale life would to be with Gav everyday. Anyway there is nothing we want more for our friends than to be sealed together in the temple. we know how important and life changing it is, and want our friends to understand it as well.

Their lunch was at the Joseph Smith Memorial building. It has always been one of my favorite places in down town. the detail is so beautiful. We got there a little early so i had some time to sit and ponder about Joseph Smith and his life. It was such a good experience for me! sometimes i get caught in the.. my life is so hard... sometimes. and to think about the faith and hardships that Joseph Smith went through made me realize how blessed i am. anyway i heart joseph smith and all he has done for me and the church.

A few of Gavin's friends hadnt been through the Conference Center yet so we took a tour. the hall of the prophets is my favorite, but my ultimate favorite statue is the one of Joseph in the grove.

I know i have a lot of favorites, but i love this wall up on the roof. and to know my little missionary helped for two years to prove this saying to be true. Love him, and all missionaries!

a Painful Gift

As you all know my birthday is coming up! My father in law got my gift a little early and couldnt wait any long to give it to me. It was a new set of pedals and clips for my sister in laws old road bike i have been riding. I was really excited but a little apprehensive about using them. But after all it was a gift so we went outside and put them on. I used them on my first ride last week. Gavin and i went on a ride and we were going up a big hill. Gavin has a hard time waiting for me sometimes so i arrived at the top of the hill alone. as my bike was coming to a slow stop i tried clicking out one side... couldnt get it... tried the other side.. not coming out!! by that time my bike came to a hault and over i went, right into a pile of glass. Gavin rushed to my side and luckily i only got scraped a little bit. but i wasnt about to give up.

So last night Gavin and I went on a ride with his parents and their friends. We all rode down to this round about, and at that point the boys would keep going and the girls would turn around. we got the seperating point, i gracefully clicked out with my righ foot to lean against the curb... and crashed over my left side. I was so frustrated! i could feel the tears coming when gavin was helping me up but i held them in since there were 20 cars and 10 people watching me eat gravel! and that my friends is how i got that beautiful mark on my elbow, you should see my stomach and my knee. anyway, after i was up and going we went our seperate ways. the whole way home was uphill and i was pushing hard, not cause i am a good rider, but because i wanted to get home!i didnt realize how far ahead i was from my mother in law Jill, so at the top of the hill i was going to wait for them to catch up. so i tried clicking out of my right, got it out, went to pedal one more time, clicked back in... tried clicking out again and noticed i was headed for the curb! I looked up, and hit my face on a huge branch! i just knew i shouldnt have gone on this ride. anyway we went 10 miles mostly uphill and i did it!! thats all that matters, and i made gavin proud.

Weddings and Races

This has been a crazy week, full of weddings and work and lots of driving. First one of my best friends got married last monday. I was lucky enough to be invited to the sealing and luncheon. It was such a great experience, there is nothing want more for my friends than to get sealed in the temple. This one of the gifts I made her for her wedding. I was so nervous she wouldnt like it but she ended up loving it.

Last Friday we had another wedding that Gavin was in this time. It was down at the Timpanogos temple. It was fun to hang out with Gav all day and the temple grounds were beautiful!

Right after the wedding on friday, we headed up to bear lake for Gavins bike race. It was a long drive, but I loved just chatting with my best friend the whole way there. We almost hit about 7 deer, but lucky we didnt. Once we arrived at the beach house we were staying at it was around 1:30 so we went right to bed because the race started pretty early. I woke up around 11:30 and opened the curtains in our room to the most beautiful view of bear lake i have ever seen. little did i know we were staying in the most amazing house! It is decorated perfectly to the T! with seven rooms a big deck and huge windows facing the lake. after his race we headed for lunch at Cafe Sabor which was delicious. we had such a fun weekend together!
